iPhone transformed to Fight Skin Cancer

Australia has a unique way to combat the threat of skin cancer. It is with the help of the Apple smart phone, the iPhone. How come?
Yes as usual, more capability the iPhone, for example to combat skin cancer can be obtained after the gadget is embedded with a specific application.

Well, the name of the application is SunSmart. As the name implies, this application has to do with sunlight. Because the causes of skin cancer the most important, is the ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun.

Going forward, this SunSmart application, expected to be an early warning system. The application is already integrated with GPS, so when the user of this application was in a place, SunSmart can detect it and notify the UV rays that are emitted at the user's location.

If roughly in the blazing sun and UV rays out that exceeds the normal limit, then the application may make recommendations to the user to use a sunscreen cream.

"The nice thing about the app is that it's in your pocket, you don't have to go to your computer or open up a paper to check" said Sue Heward, Manager of SunSmart.

According to data from the local Cancer Council, Australia is one country with the largest skin cancer rate in the world, with 1850 people infected by each year. This figure is even greater than the number of victims of traffic accidents there.
